This delicious crumb topped cinnamon swirl bake is the perfect treat to make for special occasions. It's a fun twist between baked french toast, cinnamon rolls, and a crumb cake.
I'm always looking for delicious recipes that are special enough to serve Christmas morning, but don't take too long in the kitchen! Who wants to spend that much time away from all the fun?! That's why I love this Crumb Topped Cinnamon Swirl Bake! It's a twist between baked french toast, cinnamon rolls, and crumb cake. Sometimes I like to leave off the frosting and serve it with maple syrup. It's a fun treat the whole family enjoys and it's easy to prepare. Let's get started.
Fist, you need to spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray. Place 12 frozen cinnamon rolls in the dish and set aside to soften for about 45 minutes.
You'll want to leave them just until they are soft enough to cut, but haven't started to rise. Cut each roll into eight pieces and spread them evenly in the pan. You can use clean scissors or a knife, just be careful.
Now whisk together a few eggs, some whipping cream, cinnamon, sugar, a bit of flour, and some vanilla.
Just like so.
Pour this mixture evenly over the rolls.
Now it's time to prepare the crumb topping. To do this, you are going to stir together a little flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Now pour in some melted butter and stir together until mixed well and crumbly.
Sprinkle evenly over rolls.
Now, just let the dough raise a bit, about 45 minutes to an hour. Bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until it's just starting to look golden brown. Then, soften your frosting in a glass of warm water, cut off the tip, and drizzle it over the top, just like this.
Doesn't that look amazing?! You are going to love it! Now you can help make something extra special for breakfast! It's perfect for Christmas morning, or any other time you want an easy treat! Merry Christmas!
