I couldn't think of a better combination then apples and cinnamon sugar for this dessert.
Fall always reminds me of apple pie. With all sorts of varieties ripening during the Autumn season, as a family we really enjoy trying and tasting new and old favorites. The crispness of a Honeycrisp, the heavy crunch of a Granny Smith, the sweetness of a Pink Lady. We love taking the girls to the pumpkin patch during fall. We'll make it a long afternoon, checking the hundreds of pumpkins to find the perfect one. Going on a bumpy pumpkin patch ride in a wagon filled with hay, petting the farm animals and finding our way through the corn maze. Snacking on apple cider and hot apple cider donuts, coated in a sweet layer of cinnamon sugar. I couldn't think of a better combination then apples and cinnamon sugar for this dessert, and I focused on making it easy and quick so that once I came home with a sack full of fresh apples, I could get the kids to help make a fast treat that we could all share as a family. Tasting like delightful churros with its coating of cinnamon sugar, this apple bake is sure to be a big hit at home.
This easy Apple Churro Bake can be made using only 5 ingredients. Made using Rhodes Cinnamon Rolls, you can get the kids involved with making dessert and have this ready in about 1 and 15 minutes.
To begin pull out 10 cinnamon rolls from your bag of Rhodes Cinnamon Rolls and allow them to thaw out.
Once the rolls are thawed, we can start to mix our recipe.
Have the older kids help by cutting the rolls. First cut horizontally across the roll.
Then make two more cuts in the roll, approximately 1/3 of each end.
This will give you six individual pieces of cinnamon roll.
Core, peel and chop up two small apples (one large one will also do) so that you have about 1.5 cups of apples.
In a bowl, add the cinnamon roll pieces and the apple pieces together.
Mix the apples and cinnamon roll pieces together.
Place the cinnamon roll apple mixture into a 9x9 baking pan, sprayed with baking spray, and evenly press the mixture into the pan.
Allow the cinnamon roll apple mixture to rise for about 30 minutes.
Bake at 400 degrees for about 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a bowl, and in another bowl, mix together 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon.
Brush the butter mixture all over the slightly cooled apple bake, and apply all of the butter.
Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the bake, all over the butter.
Cut into portions and serve with rich vanilla ice cream for a great Autumnal treat!
